Typically,the Staff Engineer develops deep expertise in one or more areas ofturbomachinery that allows them to apply engineering principles and practicesin areas of assignments. Assignments for this position will includeturbomachinery analytical work in the area of structural analysis,vibration, rotordynamics, bearings, seals, heat transfer, and/orthermodynamicsResponsibilities and Duties:Lead analytical efforts to meet all requirements, including technicalcapability, schedule milestones, and budgetary constraints.Resolve technical challenges through deep technical knowledge of one or moreaspects of turbomachinery and related electromechanical systemsEffectively function in a team environment to drive organizational success andimprove BNI processes. Delegate work and provide oversight to more juniorStaff Engineers.Qualifications:To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge,training, experience and abilities required. Education and TrainingBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience working in high aptitude manufacturing environment. Experience:Minimum eight years related experience and/or training in a project engineerrole.Proven rotating machinery expertise and experience with associated systems.Comprehensive understanding of rotating machinery design, analysis,test, and troubleshooting.Comprehensive understanding in the following applicable areas ofturbomachinery design:Structural AnalysisRotordynamics/VibrationThermal AnalysisBearingsSealsThermodynamics Other:Must be willing to work overtime as required.Travel up to 10% of working time.Desired Job Qualification:Experience in Ansys and Solidworks.Applicable training certificates (FEA, CFD, etc) and successfulcompletion of the Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or Fundamentals ofEngineering (F.E.) are desirable.A Colorado State Professional Engineer License is desirable.Work Authorization/Security ClearanceMust be able to work in the U.S without sponsorship.
