Join our team and thrive in a career that matters to the worldand you personally.Provide advance technology/concept development, requirements,acquisition, mission and performance analysis and systems engineeringsupport to the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP).This fast-paced organization works complex space enterprise problem sets in amulti-level classification environment. The ideal candidate will workcollaboratively with interagency, military, and civilian communities.KEY FUNCTIONS:Candidate will serve as lead technologist and lead junior engineers in conceptinitiation and development, technology development, prototyping andexperimentation.Support streamlined acquisition processes and advanced modeling and simulationfor new space security and defense capabilities.Perform technical analysis on a wide range of advanced technology studies.Scopes requirements for, initiates acquisition of, and manages executionof technical support from appropriate corporate resources includingindependent assessments and experiments.Must collaborate closely with other Aerospace, FFRDC, Government, SETAand mission partner representatives. Occasional travel is required.QUALIFICATIONSRequired:Advanced degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or ScienceA minimum of 12 years with increasing responsibilities as an applied R.and.Dand/or acquisition engineer with emphasis on ability to formulate, planand conduct technical analysis on advanced technologies, phenomenologies andsystems.Experience in working mission partnerships across a range of organizationswithin the Department of Defense or Intelligence Communities.Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstratedleadership and sound technical judgmentMust have demonstrated ability as a self-starter, in strategic planning andin working effectively with other contractors, FFRDCs, peers, andgovernment customers at all levelsThe successful candidate must excel in task prioritization and issueresolutionCurrent Top Secret SCI clearance with the ability to receive a special accessclearancePreferred:PhD in an engineering, mathematics or science disciplineExtensive acquisition experience in planning, programming and executingadvanced space sensor and weapon system technologies is strongly desired.Familiarity with organizational structure and roles and responsibilities ofthe DOD and IC with respect to space systems and space defenseEqual Opportunity CommitmentThe Aerospace Corporation is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Actionemployer.
