Who are we looking for?
•Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
•At least 5 years of professional work experience driving supplier qualification programs, supplier development and supplier quality problem solving
•Certified ISO9001 auditor
•Professional work experience in sheet-metal manufacturing, plastic injection molding and electro-mechanical assembly processes
•Track record of significant improvement in supplier component quality
•Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
•ISO and other quality systems
•Sound knowledge in Microsoft Office products
•Experience in quality core-tools (APQP, control plan, PPAP, 8D, MSA, FMEA)
What will you be doing?
The Supplier Quality Engineer will support project requirements from proposal through startup, as well as work with the Supplier Quality Manager to continuously improve supplier performance through the development of supplier quality management systems, sharing of best practices, and through the improvement of supplier surveillance. In addition, the Supplier Quality Engineer will work with the Supply Chain Manager, Supply Chain Quality team, Technology and Manufacturing Engineers, Buyers, and the WTS Engineered Systems Product Supplier Quality Leader and the Supply Chain Team to develop best value and suppliers.
•Manage supplier quality activity at SUEZ WTS Analytical Instruments facility in Boulder, CO.
•Manage the supplier quality activity at SUEZ WTS North American Purification and Disinfection business unit remotely
•Lead supplier qualification process and corrective action activity to support the flawless manufacturing process
•Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and support Safe Launch at SUEZ’s suppliers.
•Conducts regular on-site qualification and process audits at the suppliers
•Provides technical and quality support for the supplier
•Provide leadership role during investigations or major problems and special projects
•Assist in the development of new and existing suppliers by improving their quality management systems to improve overall product and documentation quality
•Audit current suppliers to evaluate risk by monitoring changes in management, key personnel, and process changes
•Perform regular on-site assessment at suppliers to improve their value contribution
•Perform inspections at supplier sites and work with suppliers to provide 1st article acceptance
•Assist in the development of product specific supplier control plans and continuous improvement of their inspection and test processes
•Manage inspection reports and supplier quality communication when non-conformities occur
•Actively manage Return on Experience (REX) from quality inspection with purchasing and engineering teams
•Perform root cause analysis (Quick Response Quality Control) involving engineering and other key departments for non-conformance issues
•Manage supplier quality documentation submittals and approvals as required by product specifications
•Assist Sourcing Team in the identification and evaluation of new suppliers
•Manage and support new supplier on-boarding process with on-site assessments and improvement actions
•Assist in the resolution of manufacturing issues at suppliers and own manufacturing sites to drive quality improvement in the supply chain
•Act as a consultant to the quality, manufacturing, and engineering organizations to improve quality and manufacturing processes, introduce new products, and improve product design
•Partner with suppliers to specify and develop product acceptance/test procedures to meet product specifications
•Identification and documentation of supplier best practices
•Actively support category specialists, category managers, and supply chain managers in category strategy development, supplier selection, and supply market research
•Assist in the development of REXs and the continuous improvement of the quality management system
•Manage and supervise supplier corrective action requests and drive suppliers to true root cause corrective actions
•Initiate and manage the cost of failure recovery requests
•Monitor and maintain the supplier key performance indicators, supplier scorecards, and initiate actions to achieve green status for supplier scorecards
•Maintain the supplier management platform (Intelex)
