QuestIntegrity, a global leader in inspection and engineering services, isseeking aThermal Power Consulting Engineer whowill be responsible fortheassessment of hightemperature fixed and rotating equipment found in thermalpower plants. Thisposition will also lead and support client projectsinvolving the applicationof computational mechanics, finite element analysisand other forms of fitness-for-servicedetermination. As a consultingengineer, the role has responsibilities oftechnical execution of projectsand business development.The positionwill be based in Boulder, Colorado.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist Thermal Power team to enhance capabilities fordelivering advancedfitness-for-service and computational mechanics work basedon current servicesincluding high energy piping analysis, turbine lifeassessment,fitness-for-service, risk and asset integrity management relatingto thermalpowCarry out advanced technical work such as advanced finiteelement analysis,including fitness-for-service assessment of high temperaturecomponents andfailure analysis with maximum project profitability.Develop new and innovative methods for increasedefficiency of projects.Work with and support other engineers with larger groupprojects and providecreative solution methodologies and ideas for efficienttask delegation.Participate on projects, including responding to clientinquiries, helpingto document project work scope, pricing, and generateproposals.Define scope of work, tasks and pricing required forsuccessful projectcompletion.Initiate and manage projects from start to finishincluding appropriatedelegation of and guidance on project tasks.Identify and create opportunities for the group includingdevelopingrelationships with key clients with the aim of generating consistentprojectinitiation.Provide innovative and creative input on overall businessdevelopment with anemphasis on developing specific ideas for business growth.Write, review and contribute to technicalpapers/presentations and articles.Present capabilities at conferences and seminars as agreedwith team manager.Provide input into development of team, including futuredevelopment andrecruiting.Develop and test in-house and commercial software toolsto support theconsulting business.Maintain firm commitment to Quest Integrity and TEAMIndustrial's Core Values.Make safety atop priority at all times as it relates to you, allcolleagues, and ourclients' personnel.KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:Requires BS or MS in related engineering field.8+ years of experience with thermal power plant equipment,operations,and economics.Experience in structural mechanics, mechanics ofmaterials, fatigue,finite element analysis and/or computational fluiddynamics, programming,and high temperature damage mechanisms such as creep.Experience in geometry and mesh generation methods andtools (Abaqus CAE,Solidworks, ANSYS, FEMAP).Experience in finite element analysis of high temperatureapplications.Must possess extraordinary problem solving, analyticalthinking, andcommunication (written and oral) skills.Mustpossess extraordinary leadership skills while developing and sharingcreativesolutions to problems with less experienced colleagues includingprovidingdirect training on advanced engineering tasks.Must be able to recognize new opportunities which maylead to infiltration intonew markets.Must have a very high level of actual engineering projectexperience.Active, professional written and verbal communicationskills.Must have prior experience using Microsoft Office andsome programming skills.Must be able to think creatively, conduct one-self withdiplomacy andmaintain confidentiality.Travel requirements: estimated at 30% both domestic andinternational.Ability to obtain TWIC (Transportation WorkerIdentification Credential)and other required industry certifications asnecessary.WORKING CONDITIONS:Normal officeenvironment with visits to industry environments.Quest Integrity is an equal opportunity employer.
