Senior Engineer – Systems Analyst

This engineering position will have performance modelling and simulation as its area of specialization with a focus on analyzing and decomposing of EO Payload requirements and planning and development of verification algorithms.

What You’ll Do:

•Analyze of variety of remote sensing payloads. Systems analysis results will guide and/or decompose system level requirements into subsystem and/or component requirements.

•Generate engineering documents including System Engineering Reports, presentations, and analysis plans and procedures.

•Develop system concepts and interface definitions.

•Work closely with hardware engineers to develop state-of-the-art system designs and analyze performance of hardware demonstrations.

•Contribute to completion of milestones within specific projects and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems.

•Preparing and giving presentations to peers/management/customers may be required.

•Responsibilities may include new business support in the form of proposal writing and/or cost/schedule estimation.

•Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

•Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

•Perform other duties as necessary.

What You’ll Need:

•BS degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field plus 8 or more years related experience is required.

•Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

•Experience with analysis of payload systems, dissection of complex problems, and identification of key performance drivers.

•Experienced Excel and MATLAB programming skills.

•Strong analytic modeling capabilities.

•Ability to document analysis results and write reports.

•Effective oral and written communication skills.

•Ability to interface with technicians, peers, senior-level engineers, and customers.

•Ability to contribute to the success of small teams through excellent teamwork.

•Active TS/SCI, SSBI, or Top Secret clearance is preferred

Working Conditions:

•Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or clean room, outdoors or remote research environment.

•May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.

•May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

•Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
