Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA Manager to be responsible for leading a team of full-time and contract QA Analysts and QA Automation Engineers throughout all stages of the application lifecycle. Directly supporting our digital products and services across consumer-facing web, mobile app, e-commerce, SMS chatbot, and the broader marketing technology space; the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. By leveraging a strong QA execution and management background, this individual will evaluate and refine our existing QA processes and tools, create a project plan for the continued development of our QA Automation Platform, develop a roadmap for integrating functional and automated testing, establish a leadership and executive reporting standard, and build relationships with QA agencies for efficient staff augmentation. Ultimately, the ideal QA Manager will have strong leadership qualities, be able to provide guidance and support to the QA team, develop a strong partnership with the PM, BA, and Development Managers, and be able to understand and assess new marketing technology initiatives. The QA Manager reports directly to the Director of Digital Technology within the Marketing Technology IT team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Team Development: Takes ownership of team’s development by understanding individual aspirations and development areas; coaching employees on their development plans.

  • Process Refinement: Assess resources, platforms, and applications to establish a baseline and determine the immediate and ongoing needs of the Digital Team’s QA program.

  • QA Automation: Drive continued adoption of test automation strategies and technologies, staying abreast of current industry trends and best practices. Work to integrate automated testing into the Digital Team’s Agile SDLC.

  • Reporting: Establish quality metrics and tracking mechanisms and create dashboards that provide increased visibility into key metrics and trends. Identify actionable items from this data analysis and use to drive the appropriate improvements across the QA team.

  • Hiring and Onboarding: Responsible for hiring full-time QA Analysts, Automation Engineers, and contractors. Identifies high-quality talent and places individuals in the right roles.

  • Resource Efficiency: Drive strategic initiatives to reduce time to release, increase quality and expand test automation.

  • Project Support: Deliver all portfolio of committed projects on time, within budget and of high quality. Helping projects to be successful by taking on QA tasks when appropriate and helping QA Analysts and Automation Engineers work through challenging technical issues.

  • Documentation: Define, document and guide best practices and standards for all QA and automated test implementations to establish a culture of quality on the Digital team.

  • Project Assessments: Working closely with the Program Manager, Development Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and other project stakeholders to provide detailed task breakdowns and assessments for conceptual projects.

  • Connections: Inspire trust and build strong relationships across locations, functions, business units, and levels across the enterprise.

Job Requirements:

Required:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field

  • 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance

  • 3+ years of experience managing, leading and coordinating activities of QA team

  • Experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Bamboo

  • Experience with 1-3 different automated testing tools or frameworks

  • Experience with Test Script management tools such as Zephyr Scale

  • Experience with documentation sharing tools such as SharePoint and Confluence

  • Experience with MS Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Must be able to communicate written and verbally with technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to manage and lead at all levels of testing including unit, functional, automation, regression, performance and scalability testing

  • Experience with working with outside agencies for staff augmentation

  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues

  • Solid understanding of the web application lifecycle

  • Technical curiosity and willingness to explore beyond your experience

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to organize and manage own time, multi-task and switch contexts

Preferred:

  • Experience with C#

  • Experience with JavaScript

  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming

The budgeted range starts at $112,000 - $140,250 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
