Kraemer North America Future Field Engineer (Campus Recruitment) in Castle Rock, Colorado

Kraemer North America will be recruiting on multiple campuses this Fall for Future Field Engineer candidates to join our team. As a Field Engineer, you will gain hands on experience in the heavy civil construction industry, along with the opportunity to work on diverse projects and the ability (not a requirement) to relocate to our other regions if you like to change scenery. Our projects are involved in the transportation, rail and marine sectors, with most of our work being bridges! Our opportunities will be available on a variety of projects in Denver, CO; Seattle, WA; Salt Lake City, UT; Minneapolis, MN; Plain, WI and Madison, WI area.

Responsibilities

  • Generate Work Activity Plans (WAP)

  • Perform site safety and risk assessments; incorporate safety needs into WAP

  • Review subcontractor safety operations

  • Identify and procure safety resources required prior to start of work activity

  • Participate in TEAM meetings

  • Audit Kraemer work and document inspection records

  • Inspect rebar

  • Assist project management in coordinating resources, schedules and subcontractors for on-site engineering activities

  • Responsible for project schedules

  • Monitor cost controls

  • Procure permanent material and supplies

  • Coordinate engineering requirements with the project superintendent

  • Track and coordinate all project submittals (i.e. fabrication and shop drawings, etc.)

  • Prepare periodic pay estimates & quantity reporting

  • Verify and log quantities installed

  • Track project labor and equipment trends

  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly cost-to-complete reports

  • Check subgrade prior to Kraemer mobilization to area

  • Assist with form layout/grade

  • Coordinate with foreman and owner reps for inspections

  • Assist with Environmental Compliance, document control & follow up

  • Take and document site photographs

  • Coordinate TCS for crew work

  • Generate Look Ahead and Flash reports

  • Complete daily journals, quality control log & binder

  • Calculate and/or verify concrete orders

  • Complete COC submittals

  • Draft RFIs

  • Participate in crew/schedule review with Superintendents

  • Update As-Built Plans

  • Assist with site orientations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar

  • Previous experience in heavy civil preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Efficient in Microsoft Office applications

  • Team player with the ability to work independently

  • Passion for safety and construction

  • Previous experience working with construction software
