General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS’ expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Satellite Quality Engineer in our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Centennial, Colorado.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyzes design reliability and quality to recommend process changes and enhancements.
Creates or recommends design, dimensional or manufacturing process changes to improve products and reduce costs.
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment. Participates in functional testing and/or inspection of equipment and systems.
May perform internal audits for quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. Implements solutions to complex problems occurring internally and at vendor facilities.
Prepares statistical analysis reports, specifications and other technical documents.
Interprets and adapts quality standards and government regulations to meet contractual requirements.
Provides QA input on project direction to other staff members.
Performs incoming material/part inspection.
Generates nonconformance, material rejections and corrective action reports, as well as communicating final acceptance test reports with customers.
Generates and maintains electronic and hard copy files of all quality and as-built information (Objective Quality Evidence) for each product based on internal and contract requirements.
Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
May be required to attend meetings and testing evolutions at vendor and/or launch facilities.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related discipline and five or more years of related experience with a bachelor's degree or three or more years with a master's degree. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
US Citizenship is required.
Must have strong working knowledge in reviewing/approving electrical and mechanical designs to established quality standards.
Experience in aerospace technologies or similar engineering background is highly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of AS9100/9102, AS478N, IPC-610/620 for inspection and repairs to PCBAs (specifically JSTD-001ES) or similar Space standards.
Experience reviewing, approving, witnessing, and accepting/rejecting complex electronic test procedures and results for system requirements verification.
Experience in reviewing design documents and Contract Requirements Deliverables Lists (CDRL) for compliance to contract requirements.
Intermediate working level of knowledge in SAP.Must be able to apply a sound understanding of inspection methods and have a strong knowledge of computer operations and applications.
The analytical ability required to develop creative solutions to routine and non-routine quality issues and the skills required to present those solutions to internal and external customers and Management.
Must be detail-oriented to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents in support of company objectives.
Nonconformance adjudication process knowledge/Material Review Board process knowledge.
Currently possess or have the ability to get and maintain a “Secret” or above DOD security clearance is highly desirable.
The ability to perform duties independently with little to no on-site supervision.
Able to work extended hours as required.
Each job has a salary range which identifies the minimum, midpoint (market) and maximum base pay for the job. Pay rates are established based on the individual's knowledge, skill, experience and education/training needed to perform the job.
