These cover a very wide range from advanced missionpayloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbitaland space exploration systems. You'll examine complex metallic and compositestructures and systems. Your technical duties involve the design anddevelopment of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.At SNC's ISR, Aviation and Security (IAS) team we are a leading mannedand unmanned aircraft systems integrator for high-performance intelligence,surveillance and reconnaissance, and aviation systems. IAS tailors solutionsto customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs toconsistently exceed expectations and provide a turnkey approach to enable ourcustomers to focus on their mission.Must-haves:Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, AerospaceEngineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 ormore years of relevant experienceUnderstanding of engineering principles and practicesExperience with Computer Aided Engineering toolsAbility to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsAdvanced knowledge of Static and/or Dynamic AnalysesExperience with aerospace structural design, fabrication, and repairmethods for military and/or commercial aircraftLeadership in the design, development and analyses of complex and/or largeaerospace structuresFamiliarity with military and commercial aerospace catalog of standards,fasteners, and material propertiesProficiency in ASME Y14 drawing standards and practices including thedevelopment of "production level" technical data packages (Level 3 TDP)An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is requiredPreferred:Extensive experience in Engineering Simulation using Finite Element structuralanalysis (FEA) tools such as MSC Patran, NX NASTRAN, FEMAP, or ANSYSExperience performing fatigue and damage tolerance analysis utilizing toolssuch as NASGRO or AFGROWAbility to perform classical analysis using industry standard hand calculationmethodsKnowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include,but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, materialhardware selection, manufacturing and production processesAbility to author substantiation reportsBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryExperience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing(GDandT) per ASME Y14.5Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structuralAnalysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and Thermal AnalysisBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry Flutter and Vibrationanalysis experienceExperience with FAA and/or Military Certification processes and requirementsExperience in the support of aerospace fabrication and installation activitiesin an operations liaison roleStrong knowledge and familiarity regarding the environmental compatibility ofequipment and installations per MIL-STD-810 and/or RTCA DO-160Familiarity with Model Based Definition (MBD) and Geometric Dimensioningand Tolerancing (GDandT) requirementsExperience with Solidworks and PLMIMPORTANT NOTICE:This position requires current/active Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
