SNC is looking for a Structural Engineer to support the analysis andcertification of modifications to a transport aircraft.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop load paths for attachment of mission equipment to aircraft primary andsecondary structurePerform detailed structural analysis on both primary and secondary aircraftstructure utilizing classical hand calculation methods and finite elementanalysisPerform dynamic analysis on aircraft modifications. Dynamic analysis toinclude impulse, random/vibration response, and harmonic responsePerform detailed damage tolerance analysis on primary aircraft structureWork closely with structural design group to develop detailed 2D drawings forproductionDevelop substantiation documentation in order to demonstrate compliancerelated airworthiness requirements including;Test plans and reportsAnalysis documentsCompliance checklistsProduce detailed structural analysis reports and work with approvingdesignated engineering representative to obtain approvalCollaborate with other engineering functions, and subject matter experts onsystem level details including assembly and subassembly requirementsProvide on-site liaison support for production build activitiesOther responsibilities may include new business development, IR&Dprojects, and customer interfaceADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such asTime Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews,Succession Planning, etc.Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team trainingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementSNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only. They do not necessarilyreflect all duties and responsibilities of a positionEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering required6 or more years of experience working with Stress Analysis related workExperience in both classical structural analysis and finite element analysisof metallic and composite aircraft primary and secondary structureExperience in vibration analysis of aircraft structureAbility to prioritize workloads and show flexibility to changing situations/ demandsAbility to communicate with all levels of management, customers, andindividual contributorsPreferred Qualifications:Able to demonstrate a comprehensive working knowledge of regulatory andapplicable airworthiness requirements including Mil-hdbk-516C, CFR 14 Part23, & 25 requirementsExperience in damage tolerance analysis of metallic aircraft structureSolidWorks experienceExperience with narrow body transport category aircraftExperienced in execution of government contractsExperience in integrating mission systems across a wide variety ofprimary/secondary structureExperience in VBA programmingExperience in liaison engineeringIMPORTANT NOTICES:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S.Security Clearance.
