SUMMARY:The Systems Engineer reports to the Program Manager on the program he/she issupporting and works in concert with the Project Engineer and lead functionalengineers in execution of the program. The Systems Engineer is responsiblefor decomposition of requirements, generation and allocation ofspecifications, control documents, plans and reports in support of thedevelopment. The Systems Engineer supports programs from the early phases ofprogram capture through integration and test. The Systems Engineer should havea good working knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and aerospaceengineering disciplines.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Support business development in defining systems architectures for businessopportunities during the program capture phaseSupport the engineering team on refining the system architecture during theproposal effortWork closely with the project engineer and manufacturing in developing theEngineering Program Plan (EPP)Lead the program efforts to interpret customer requirements and decompose theminto hardware and system requirements and specificationsOriginate specifications, control documents, verification and validationplans, procedures, reports, or other documentation in support of designand development activitiesAct as a technical liaison to the Program ManagerWork closely with manufacturing engineering to:Ensure product manufacturability, testability and supportabilityPlan production fixtures, test procedures and test equipmentSupport the project engineer in tracking the EPPPrepare material for, and conduct periodic design reviewsExecute engineering design and development activities consistent with Customerquality, cost and schedule requirementsEnsure that all specifications, designs and developments adhere to SNCstandards and customer requirementsProvide support in the development and maintaining of configuration baselinesfor systems and sub-systemsADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Follow SNC policies, procedures and work instructions for all technicalactivitiesPunctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hoursOther duties as assignedCOMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for thoughtful adherence to all SNC Policies, Procedures, andCompliance regulations (internal and external)Responsible for timely execution of all personnel-related activities such asTime Sheet completion, Performance Evaluations, Salary Reviews,Succession Planning, etc.Responsible for leadership oversight and for ensuring Department/Team trainingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Minimum physical requirements to perform all duties and responsibilities, asdefined by managementSNC job descriptions are meant as summarizations only.
