We are currently seeking a Space Systems Engineer - Senior to help us support the Space Development Agency.
Parsons Space Systems Engineers perform a variety of engineering tasks related to the development, operation, and maintenance of complex technology systems.
Researches, designs, develops, and tests structures, propulsion units, and guidance and control subsystems for spacecraft.
Analyzes aerospace product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs, which can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.
-Analyzes project requests and proposals and engineering data to determine feasibility, producibility, cost, and production time of aerospace products.
Directs and coordinates activities of engineering or technical staff designing, fabricating, modifying, or testing of aerospace products.
Develops design criteria for aerospace products or systems, including testing methods, production costs, quality standards, and completion dates.
Plans and conducts experimental, environmental, operational and stress tests on models and prototypes of aerospace systems and equipment.
Evaluates product data and design from inspections and reports for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standards.
Formulates mathematical models or other methods of computer analysis to develop, evaluate, or modify design according to customer engineering requirements.
Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field engineers, and inspect malfunctioning or damaged products to determine problem.
Evaluates and approves selection of vendors.
Plans and coordinates activities concerned with investigating and resolving customers' reports of technical problems with aerospace vehicles.
Evaluates new technologies for application in improving design of aerospace systems.
Plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates testing of aerospace systems.
Performs risk assessment of aerospace systems and generates risk mitigation plans and strategies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited institution (a combination of years of experience, education, training and certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree)
8+ years related professional experience
A proven self starter able to work individually with limited supervision, and capable of working in small to large focus groups assigned to complex tasks.
Experience in space related systems engineering required
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
