DDN Data Center Solutions provides high performance storage and server systems for the cloud and data center. DCS has an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer in a growth position on the cutting edge of storage and server product design.
This experienced engineer will provide invaluable expertise for the Data Center Solutions team to develop cutting-edge hardware solutions for cloud and data center deployments. He / She will work closely with a cross-functional engineering team to define and implement innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop technical project requirements, including cost, performance, reliability, quality, and manufacturability.
Participate in design of circuit boards through all design phases to meet requirements
Design and debug of FPGA logic
Present and participate in cross-functional design reviews
Track and resolve technical issues and requests for information
Support manufacturing qualification process to ensure delivery of a high quality product.
Develop plans and scripts for engineering test, validation, and manufacturing test
Coordinate with vendors on technical requirements of current and future design projects
Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver all aspects of a product
Author and maintain specifications and technical documentation
Support customers, suppliers, or manufacturing as needed
Participate in continuous improvements in quality, design, support, and process activities
Strong fundamentals in electrical engineering
Design, debug, and qualification of board and system level hardware
Excellent communication, documentation, and technical skills
Strong sense of urgency and teamwork
Ability to learn new designs quickly and independently
Ability to work well both alone or in small teams
High speed design experience (> 1Gbs) a plus
Experience with various I/O protocols, such as PCIe, SAS, SATA and Ethernet a plus
Direct experience with x86 or ARM computer architectures and chipsets, is a plus
Knowledge of server and storage systems is a plus
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience with board and system level design, bring-up, debug, and delivery
