INTECON is seeking a (Multi-Disciplined Engineering SME, Journeyman) to join our team in support the U.S. Air Force North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITWAA) Sustained Support Contract (NISSC).

Program description:

NISSC provides accurate, timely, and unambiguous warning and attack assessment of Air, Missile, and Space threats with daily visibility of National Command Authority leaders including the President of the United States. NCMC-ITW/AA is composed of Air, Missile, and Space Warning Missions located at Cheyenne Mountain AFS, Peterson AFB, Offutt AFB, Vandenberg AFB, and forward user and sensor sites worldwide.

Job Description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for validating CAD detail design solutions for the system infrastructure (network, storage, and computing) for new and revised systems. The position will require detail design artifacts to be validated which includes drawings using CAD systems to validate design layouts, detail, interconnect and assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, parts list and other related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications. The candidate may have to prepare specifications, drawings, procedures, and related engineering change orders. The candidate will also be expected to identify and correct design, model, or drawing errors/omissions/deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements and may assist in directing work, assigning tasks and outlining activities.


Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have and be able to maintain and active Secret level Security Clearance

Educational Requirements:

  • BS degree or 5 years of relevant experience

Required Experience:

  • Four (4) or more years of progressive technical/engineering experience with emphasis in mechanical design, analysis, and integration

  • Experience in drawing development and 3D modeling, utilizing software such AutoCAD and/or CREO

  • Familiarity with Military and Commercial Drawing Standards, including ASME-Y14.100

  • Experience in developing Interface Control Drawings, Cable Assembly Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Installation Drawings, and Rack Elevation Drawings

  • Ability to analyze engineering change requests to determine changes/modifications needed to the drawing package

  • Experience reviewing documentation and conducting drawing checks

  • Coordinate and communicate with members of engineering and management, to ensure designs meet technical requirements

  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.

  • Experience in Hardware Engineering for the purpose of validating a physical datacenter rack layout against the drawing artifacts.

  • Experience in working with PDM systems and possesses strong understanding of Configuration Management principles

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with ITW/AA Communications System engineering, deployment and installation. Experience with engineering drawing applications and creation of contract specific documents (Reports, Site Preparation and Installation Plan, briefing slides, etc.)

  • Experienced in DoD communications system engineering and implementation of mission critical capabilities.

  • Technical knowledge and engineering design experience with infrastructure systems (Computer, Networking, and Storage) components and associated hardware component configurations and interfaces.
