Lockheed Martin Satellite Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Description: Provide a variety of Orbit Analyst technical services to the 22nd Space Operations Squadron leadership, and internal and external customers while generating products in support of associated Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN) operations.
Interface with external organizations and 22SOPS customers as directed by the Lead and squadron leadership.
Provide technical expertise for Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) predictions and perform Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) investigations, anomaly resolution actions, launch and maneuver operations and perform antenna bias calculations.
Generate satellite visibilities, TLEs and RFI predictions for launch and early orbit and on-orbit assets.
Review Government prepared orbital analysis and related technical products, processes, and procedures for technical accuracy. Perform one-of-a-kind tests, validations, and special studies as needed.
Assist with hardware/software tools as necessary. Occasional travel is required as well as on-call support, weekend activities, and occasional 2nd and 3rd shift work.
Full participation and support of all 50th Space Wing exercises and inspections is required.
Candidate must have experience working in the space operations field, troubleshooting, and excellent communications skills are mandatory, as well as the ability to work closely and harmoniously in a small team environment with Government customers and other contractors.
The analyst must be able to successfully multi-task, be a self-starter, and support the OA Lead in planning, scheduling, and implementing projects.
Experience with 50SW, 22SOPS, and AFSCN customers and practices, knowledge of the OAS Follow-On system and associated tools, and previous experience in 1, 2, 3, or 4 SOPS is useful. Excellent use of STK is a plus. Strong skills in mathematics.
