My client is one of the top ten exchange carriers in the U.S. We have arequirement for: JOB TITLE : Senior Test Engineer LOCATION : Colorado Springs, CO DURATION : Contract to hire PAY RATE : $50 -55/hr JOB DESCRIPTION The Sr. Test Engineer works as part of the design engineering team toidentify, execute, and document testing required for certificationand/or qualification of aircraft seating products to customer and regulatoryrequirements. * The test engineer is responsible for support of product specificationdevelopment, creation of test plans/ procedures, design and acquisitionof test fixtures, execution of testing at both in-house and 3rd partyfacilities, analysis of test results, and reporting of the test results. * Develop test plans, test reports and support test execution fordevelopment and qualification tests including dynamic(sled), static,vibration, temperature, humidity, altitude, lifecycle and otherenvironmental tests for aerospace testing products. * Interrogate design configurations using Unigraphics/NX and TeamCenter. Create figures for test plans. * Visualize, develop, and implement innovative test methods and datacollection opportunities. * Support creation of proposals for new business opportunities byidentifying and estimating testing activities. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS * BA/BS degree in Engineering in a mechanical field of study; otherdegrees may be considered based on practical experience with 4+ years ofexperience. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * At least 4 years of experience with planning, conducting,analyzing, and reporting qualification (static, lifecycle,vibration, temperature, humidity, etc.) testing. PREFERRED: * Mechanical engineering design experience * Unigraphics/NX CAD experience * Knowledge of military and/or commercial aerospace certificationrequirements * Knowledge of Aerospace Seating Systems SKILLS REQUIRED: * The position requires strong interpersonal skills, high degree ofcomfort with ambiguity, good project discipline, excellent oral andwritten communication skills, and the ability to work independently. * Interaction with suppliers is routinely required. * The successful applicant must be willing to work beyond core hours,and weekends (when required); and regularly travel to supportcertification/qualification activities. * Above average PC, data processing (Word, Excel, Power Point,etc.) skills are a must. * Familiarity with CAD systems is essential and knowledge of NX is aplus.
