Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. Space Command and Control (C2) Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Joint Space and Strategic Capabilities Group (JSSC) provides program management, engineering services, and analytic support to the US Space Force, US Air Force, US Space Command, and US Strategic Command. Our work includes developing approaches and concepts to meet emerging, high priority national defense needs, and assessing cutting-edge technologies and capabilities to meet those needs.

SPA has an immediate or near term need for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with experience in Global Data Integration (GDI) and/or Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) programs. The position will support the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) in Colorado Springs, CO. The candidate needs to be familiar with USSPACECOM missions and how space operations support national security and joint warfighting operations.

Provide support to USSPACECOM in developing, planning, and programing for mission requirements impacting GDI and JADC2. Collaborate with external stakeholders associated with USSPACECOM missions operated from USSPACECOM Command and Control (C2) centers and facilities. Provide staff support and recommendations to help ensure USSPACECOM Space C2 mission requirements and associated mission systems enable can be successfully integrated with other DoD GDI and JADC2 initiatives. Support may encompass analysis of Space C2 concepts and requirements for USSPACECOM and associated mission partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, technical field, or space operations or 15+ years of experience in a space-related career may be substituted for the degree

  • 10+ like years' experience in USSPACECOM missions and/or US Space Force missions and systems

  • 5+ years' experience developing guidance, requirements and conducting studies and analysis

  • 5+ years' experience with identifying and coordination issues across multiple program stakeholders and participants

  • TOP SECRET clearance with eligibility to obtain an SCI clearance and ability to maintain during the duration of employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with USSPACECOM mission partners (DoD, Joint Services, External Partners)

  • Ability to work in a matrixed environment of contractor, vendor, and government personnel in a fast-paced team organization

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate highly technical subject matter to broad audiences, including executive-level audiences

  • Experience with drafting status reports and defining and gathering requirements

  • Ability to facilitate working groups and data calls
