MITRE’s Technical Analysis Department is looking for subject matter experts, engineers, scientists and analysts with an interest in advancing and applying innovative science and engineering techniques to help solve some of our nation's most critical challenges in delivering services to citizens throughout defense and intelligence, homeland security and cybersecurity domains. We are looking for highly-motivated, adaptive, and self-directed candidates with a solid science and engineering foundation in or a motivation to build technical skills supporting the development and deployment of nationally important solutions.
As a Space Operations Subject Matter Expert in Technical Analysis department, you will leverage and grow your scientific and analytic expertise to provide support across a variety of planning and operations activities, intelligence processes and organizational initiation and integration activities for MITRE’s sponsors.
Facilitating and developing SPACECOM J2 Strategy, Plans, Operating Procedures
Analytic Mission Support and Operational Intelligence Functions.
Develop Intelligence Capabilities, Identify gaps and integration points.
Strong interaction skills with DoD Leadership in COCOMs and other Space Agencies.
Applies advanced principles, theories, concepts to address operational performance gaps.
Knowledge of customers' missions, domains, challenges.
Fully responsible for deliverables.
Applicants selected for this position must have a current government TS security clearance. They must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Bachelors Degree in related field (e.g., Operations Research, Political Science, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Military Science).
Experience in a Space Ops environment.
3-5 year history with and knowledge of COCOM J2/J8 Operations (preferably with space capabilities)
2-5 years Military Operations Research (MOR) experience (preferably on the Joint Staff or STRATCOM/J28)
Experience developing CONPLANS and OPLANS
Experience with Scenario Development, Wargaming and Table-top Exercises (TTXs)
Experience in the Joint Staff J8 Modeling and Simulation arena
Operational and technical history with space systems and space tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs)
Understanding of intelligence operations and technical requirements for space activities.
Understanding of space defense.
Experience with cost evaluation and DoD budgeting and fiscal operations.
Familiarity with space and counter space foreign threats and friendly operations.
Familiarity with FVEY interactions and cooperation in the intelligence domain.
Masters degree in aligned fields (e.g., Operations Research, Political Science, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Military Science) and 10 years experience.
Current government SCI security clearance with polygraph
