DescriptionTitle: Space Systems Acquisition SpecialistJob Location: Colorado Springs, COOdyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for a Space SystemsAcquisition Specialist supporting United States Space Force (USSF) SpaceOperations Command (SpOC) at Peterson AFB CO. The prospective candidateshall possess experience with DOD 5000-series acquisition processes forEnterprise-level actions of multi-segment Major Defense Acquisition Programs(MDAP) for Acquisition Category (ACAT) Tier 1 space programs.Qualifications/certifications with Section 804 Middle Tier Acquisition(MTA), DAWIA (Program Management, System Planning ResearchDevelopment and Engineering, Test and Evaluation), Top Secret clearancewith SCI eligibility, and familiarity with the Global Positioning System(GPS) Enterprise is a plus. [Note: HQ SpOC provides JCIDSoperational capability requirements oversight and space acquisition analysesfor the GPS Enterprise satellite, control, and user equipment segments,ensuring 24/7/365 space-based Positioning, Navigation, and Timing(PNT) as charged by the President in National Security Policy Directive 39(NSPD-39) to maintain GPS as the international gold standard for satellitenavigation systems for 6+ billion military and civilian worldwide users].This position will interface with other USSF organizations, US StrategicCommand (USSTRATCOM), US Space Command (USSPACECOM), HQ Air Force(HAF), SMC (re-designated as SSC), 5x military Services,intelligence and civil agencies, and other organizations as necessary forthe t Job Responsibilities:Duties include, but are not limited to:Technical evaluation and course of action development for current and futurespace system acquisition solutions to satellite, ground control, andreceiver segments in operational environments.Author acquisition analyses regarding cost, schedule, and performancelinkages to Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)documents for operational capability requirements.Evaluate SMC (re-designated as SSC) Development, Enterprise, and/orProduction Corps programmatic information regarding on-going and futurenear-simultaneous space system acquisition events to deliver Enterprise-levelwarfighter capabilities.Review technical proposals and system specification updates through theConfiguration Control Board (CCB) process.Assess acquisition support to the operational transition planning for spacesystem fielding within established US warfighting doctrinal constructs toensure capability alignment for combatant command operational use.Minimum Qualifications:Current TS clearance with SCI eligibility.4 or more years in DOD 5000-series space system acquisition processes andfunctions (e.g., RDTandE background in the 63A and/or 62E specialty codes).Bachelor's degree or higher in a discipline supporting acquisition analyses.Good communication skills, particularly technical writing and briefing.Microsoft product proficiency (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).Preferred Qualifications:Current TS/SCI security background investigation.MDAP experience with ACAT 1 multi-segment space acquisition.Section 804 Middle Tier Acquisition (MTA) knowledge.Recent SSC support to the GPS Enterprise (space, ground control, anduser equipment).General knowledge of the JCIDS requirements development process.DAWIA certifications (PM, SPRDE, TandE) and/or related acquisition courses.Additional Information:Work location is Peterson Air Force Base CO.US Citizenship required.Job requires up to approximately 10% out-of-area travel per year.Odyssey Systems Consulting Group, Ltd. is an innovative small businesscommitted to providing world class technical, management, and trainingsupport services to government and public sector clients.
