ASRC Federal Holding Company Electrical Engineer in Colorado

ASRC is a sub-contractor to Lockheed Martin supporting the build of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, NASA's first spacecraft designed for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit, such as asteroids, the moon and eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.

ASRC seeks Design/Electrical Engineer to support Orion vehicle Avionics and European Space Module design, integration and testing in the Integrated Test Laboratory at Lockheed's Waterton Facility.

The Design/Electrical Engineer will be responsible for design, build, and testing of Test Labs subsystems associated with the Orion Test Laboratory Facilities, The primary Test Facilities are located in Denver Colorado, with satellite facilities located in Houston TX and at Kennedy Space Center, FL. The Design Engineer will be responsible for design of electrical systems and test equipment for system integration and test. The engineer will develop engineering designs and drawings per requirements and electrical industry standards and practices. Develops drawings, parts lists, and oversees build of system or implementation of a modification. Ensures installation per drawings conform to standards, processes, specifications of the parent Lockheed. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design. The Design/Electrical Engineer will provide engineering support in analyzing system anomalies, performing troubleshooting/data collection and providing anomaly resolution.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for concepts and detail design of electrical systems and test equipment with a focus on design optimization and ease of manufacturing. Generates engineering designs and drawings per electrical industry standards and practices. Ensures completed drawings are clear, complete, and conform to standards, processes, specifications. Identifies design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience/combined education.

  • Strong background in designing integrated systems to requirements

*Proven electrical component design

  • Development of Drawings, Parts lists, build and install documentation

  • Experience presenting and communicating effectively to a broad technical community

Desired skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products including MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio

  • Familiar with Zuken, Pro-E

  • Real-time and embedded systems integration experience

  • Experience with Orion or other NASA/DOD Space Programs

  • Experience working within a lab environment

  • Experience working independently as well as a team setting
