Otherlocations with significant travel may also be considered.Job SummaryWithin a given discipline, is fully competent to completeengineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations,design and delivery with minimal direction. On tasks basis, is responsiblefor preparation and completion of discipline engineering efforts that areresponsive to project needs. Coordinates preparation of design details,plans, and drawings within assigned task areas.Essential ResponsibilityResponsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such asreports, designs, specifications and plans.Responsible for coordination and productivity of subordinates. Providestechnical guidance to less experienced engineers.Works closely with other disciplines and multi-discipline projects.Performs other duties as assigned.Additional Responsibilities- Helps supervise, schedule and check work of project team members- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects- Responsible for productivity of subordinates and on time, on budget projects- Detailed understanding of best practices of systems engineering on largescale rail and transit projects- Leads V&V process on assigned projects- Writes project test plans and procedures- Responsible for traceability of system requirements through sub systems andtest procedures via the "V-Model"- Helps supervise, schedule and check work of project team members- Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects- Responsible for productivity of subordinates and on time, on budget projects Basic QualificationBachelor's degree in Engineering5 years relevant experienceEITPreferred Qualification/SkillsMaster's degree in Engineering8 years relevant experienceCalifornia Professional Engineer General Work ConditionsCombination Office and Field Environment: Most work is performed in anoffice environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentiallyunpleasant working conditions.
