CONTRACT LENGTH: 1 year
The purpose of this role is to provide ADMS support to Network Model Build project for the construction of the impedance model for the ADMS System. This role will support, Grid Management org by performing technical reviews of the recommended data changes to the distribution grid data in GIS resulting from field data collection efforts by other vendors. In addition, this role will support the model promotion process for the continued sustainment of the entire ADMS Network Model.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates, updates and revises sketches, working drawings and contract documents using Computer Assisted Design (CAD) software or manual means of drafting to meet customer requirements.
Prepares 2D and 3D models.
Must be able to read and comprehend detailed customer requirements, data sheets and supplier specifications.
Assignments will be completed utilizing information provided by project engineering, architectural, or technical services staff under the direction of a supervisor.
Requires familiarity with drafting techniques and engineering concepts and terminology.
Able to read engineering drawing and blueprints. Prepares documentation to support design drawings. Prepare bills of material, schedules, and assist engineering personnel with formal drawing transmittals and construction issues.
Basic knowledge in design, calculations and design systems.
Basic knowledge in the theory and practices of engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline; and capable of operating related discipline design software necessary to execute production tasks.
Ability to work collaboratively with others (Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-discipline project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and attention to detail.
The persons applying for this role require three years of experience working with a distribution grid in a design or GIS capacity.
Strong understanding of design software such as: AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Excel to develop the design deliverables. Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs.
Ability to utilize both 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings. Strong preference for high level proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation, or industry comparable design engineering software
