Seeking Engineering Project Managers

6-11 month contract to hire opportunity

Competitive compensation

Location: Anywhere in the USA, 80% travel within region required

Seeking experienced Engineering PMs to lead the capacity, capital planning and project execution (throughput) for expansion of fulfillment network. Successful candidate will have strong level of ownership and be a highly motivated individual who has Engineering PM experience. The role will understand the details of a Fulfillment Center design, implementation, modeling, estimating and managing new Fulfillment Center start-ups. This individual will lead a project and provide leadership in managing the build specifications; pre-contract work, internal teams and vendor relations. This individual will be responsible for managing critical path and helping other teams deliver network capacity on time. This individual needs to be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams.

TOP SKILLS REQUIRED:

-Project Management exp. 5-8+ years

-MUST have exp. with material handling equipment (Hand Pallet Trucks, Stackers, Palletizers, Aerial Work Platforms, Hydraulic Floor Cranes, Lifting Hoists, Conveyors, etc.)

-Experience in Ops Engineering, Facility Management, Distribution Management, Capital Equipment Management

-Oversee warehouse distribution/fulfillment center equipment installation & throughput

-B.S. or Masters, in Engineering (or science/technology)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven technical leadership experience in development and implementation of large scale, complex projects

  • Excellent working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project and related software

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • Lead E2E project delivery including resources, schedule, and vendor management.

  • Conduct multiple weekly standing meetings with internal teams and vendors to plan and track deliverables.

  • Evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve organization team structure.

  • Lead technical design reviews and propose design solutions for material handling and storage solutions that meet both business needs and leverage global design standardization.

  • Lead several engineering contractors.

  • Create, submit and track the relevant documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and best overall value.

  • Deep dive on technical details and lead problem resolution on a need basis.

  • Communicate project status, drive and elevate decision making and help requests.

  • Lead critical path schedule items and escalate to leadership on potential risks and delays.

  • Assist in providing equipment projections to procurement and partner for best value and competition.

  • Coordinate information between various teams in the organization.

  • Own and develop technology innovations and solutions on a need basis.

  • Work very closely with the Real Estate, IT and Operations teams from project start to end.

  • Ability to understand Operational processes.

  • Must showcase an ability to learn and ramp up quickly

  • Must have experience managing vendors and overseeing equipment installation
