Argonaut Private Equity Estimator in Denver, Colorado

If you have full process estimating experience with Big Box, K-12 and/ or Municipality projects this role could be a fit for you.
The Estimator works closely with the Senior Estimator and Project Estimator(s) on his/her team and is primarily focused on performing quantity surveys, estimate assembly and soliciting bids from Subcontractors and Suppliers as directed by the Senior Estimator. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience working with Subcontractors and Suppliers to establish cost estimates. Opportunities also exist for exposure to Clients, Architects, Engineers and Consultants to determine the work scope and costs for building projects. The Estimator will continually improve his/her ability to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals and other documentation to assist in the preparation of time, cost and labor estimates.

Responsibilities:
Prepare quantity surveys and estimates costs of materials, labor and equipment for projects
Research and interpret construction documents, including specifications and drawings
Assemble estimates utilizing Microsoft Excel computer spreadsheets
Assist in Subcontractor and Supplier bid solicitation
Review Subcontractor and Supplier bids for conformity to contract requirements
Attend project Pre-Bid meetings when requested
Participate in Project Qualification interviews and presentations
Assist with negotiated work (CMGC) and project budget/sales
Develop construction materials and methods knowledge
Provide accurate and timely information to department managers
Help identify ways of increasing the value the company provides to its Customers
Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a 4-year college
Or, two (2) or more years of related commercial construction industry experience
Or, equivalent combination of education and commercial construction industry experience
Ability to read and analyze construction documents for commercial and civil construction projects
Knowledge of project- based software and Microsoft computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to compose reports and business correspondence
Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with Managers and Vendors
Mathematical proficiency utilizing fractions, percentages, ratios for practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and examine a variety of tangible variables
Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral and diagrammatic communications
Ability to pass drug test, background and driving checks
Valid Colorado driver license
Other Demands:
Job requires minimal travel during the day to attend meetings and visit job sites
