In this role you will work as part of a teamresponsible for theinspection, analysis, and evaluation of root causes of failures ofgeotechnical systems (e.g.,foundations, retaining walls, excavationsupport systems, levees, dams, and slopes).You will be responsible for:Conducting field inspectionsAssisting with peer review of geotechnical systemsEvaluating construction claimsPreparing conceptual designs for the repair/restoration of damagedgeotechnical systemsYou will have the following skills and qualifications:Ph.D. in Civil Engineering specializing in Geotechnical Engineering from anaccredited university or M.S. plus 5 years' experienceDegrees, experience or related coursework in Geology/GeologicalEngineering, Groundwater/Surface Water Hydrology or Structural Engineeringa strong plusStrong analytical and critical thinking skills and potential to developsuccessful client relationsAttention to detail, dedication to quality and accuracy, desire to work ina fast paced environment, and effective leadership skillsAbility to work independently or support multiple group projects and tointeract with other engineers, administrative staff, and clientsAbility to gather information from a wide variety of sources (e.g., fieldinvestigations, document reviews, and interviews) and to synthesize andconvey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, andindusKnowledge of geotechnical modeling software, graphing software and imagingsoftware a strong plusTo learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit thefollowing links:We valueand encourage diversity, equity andinclusionacross all facets of ourfirm.
