The MECHANICAL ENGINEER-RS 3 designs,researches and develops structural engineering solutions involving metals andnon-metallic (composite and additive manufactured) structural materials.Products include major primary and secondary structures, mechanical,hydraulic, electrical, heating and ventilating, equipment andmaintenance designs. The MECHANICAL ENGINEER-RS 3 works as design engineer inan integrated team as part of a major development program, executing complexdesign engineering tasks, including creating CAD models, engineeringdrawings, specs, etc, and coordinating with suppliers and customers.External Additional Requirements Bachelor s Degree in relevant Engineering discipline and 4 - 8years of relatable experience Ability to create and modify CAD models Demonstrated leadership proficiency Ability to operate independently System level understanding of design principles and adjacentengineering disciplines Time management skills and strong self-initiative Ability to present technical concepts and solutions Ability to apply design concepts to real world solutions Ability to assess and interpret engineering drawings, specs,and industry/government standards Travel may be required to other ULA locationsExternal Preferred Qualifications Master s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering 5+ years of relevant job experience Proficiency with Aerospace engineering applications, includingNX and Teamcenter Experience in development and production Hardware manufacturing or testing experience Knowledge of machine shop practices, capabilities, accuraciesand limitations Proficient with Microsoft Office platform tools Excellent communication skills (oral and written)Functional Job DescriptionSafety to Self and Others: Must be able to perform all assigned tasks in asafe manner.
