Wood Plc On Call Water Resources Engineer in Denver, Colorado

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood Environment .and. Infrastructure Solutions has an opportunity with ourDenver, CO team for an On Call Water Resources Engineer to support FEMA RiskMAP (Risk Mapping, Assessment and Planning) activities throughout thestate of Colorado. This individual will work closely with team members, bothlocally and nationally, towards the successful completion of a variety ofRisk MAP products and other water resources projects. Will work on an on callbKey Responsibilities* Will work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer/Engineering Managersupporting our hydraulics and hydrology group* Working as part of a project team, he or she will contribute to thedevelopment of hydrologic and hydraulic models of open and closed systems,flood hazard mitigation analysis, risk data analysis, GIS analysis, andpreparation of planning reports* Tasks include H.and.H modeling with GeoHMS, GeoRAS, HEC-HMS, andHEC-RAS, as well as other H.and.H software, for FEMA Flood Insurance Studiesto establish flood hazard engineering and mapping* Will also support transportation engineering, drainage engineering,stream restoration design, and floodplain management work* Convey results and findings by means of oral discussions, graphic-basedpresentations, and project documentationSkills / Qualifications* BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree required; MSpreferred* 3 years + of hydrology / hydraulics and water resources experience* Must be a self-starter with good written and verbal communication skills* Proficiency in MS Office* Experience using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, EPASWMM, HY-8 software* Experience using ArcGIS* Experience with MicroStation/Geopak and/or AutoCAD a plus* Familiarity with the National Flood Insurance Program and FEMA floodinsurance study regulations* Must pass drug test and background checkCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and thebuilt environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world's mostcritical challenges.
