Job Description: The On-Site Project Engineer will be responsible for the day to day execution of field work. The designated on-site project engineer must be a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado. The On-Site Project Engineer shall be competent, experienced, and knowledgeable in water treatment and environmental remediation. The On-Site Project Engineer will provide environmental support for commercial and government clients; develop work plans and supporting documentation; prepare and review technical investigation and remedial activity reports and be responsible for on-site execution for compliance with design plans.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Day to day execution of field work; prepare meeting agendas, weekly schedule outlooks and meeting minutes for all job meetings; performs storm water, groundwater, and/or other water remediation related activities on assigned projects; collects and analyzes a variety of water quality samples using handheld equipment, field instruments and laboratory methods as necessary; preparation of technical plans and reports; thorough understanding of contract documents and subcontracts.
Education and Skills Required:
Colorado Professional Engineering License Required; experience with drinking water treatment systems; minimum 5 years’ experience in relevant work to include water treatment and environmental remediation; minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Environmental Studies, or other related field; working knowledge of environmental sampling techniques; experience with preparation of work plans and reports; prefer thorough understanding of all environmental rules and regulations; ability to obtain and maintain access and clearance for federal installations; knowledge of fundamental site safety protocols; excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrate initiative and the ability to problem solve; comfortable in a dynamic environment; ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
Experience and Skills Preferred/Desired:
Experience with environmental compliance, investigation, and remediation projects under various regulatory programs including, but not limited to: Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA); Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA); Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA); Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA); Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA); National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS); Leaking Underground Storage Tanks (USTs)/Above Ground Storage Tanks (ASTs); Federal project experience; knowledge of fundamental site safety protocols; PFAS Investigation; Brownfields Development; skill(s) in a technical area, which may include, but are not restricted to groundwater modeling, risk assessment, in situ biodegradation, etc.
The On-Site Project Engineer must have had OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training; travel will be required.
