Responsibilities

  • Document, maintain and refine Quality Engineering (QE) standard operating procedure and processes.

  • Create and manage our enterprise QE portal in Confluence, SharePoint or MS Teams.

  • Support QE governance, oversight and audit on current projects, programs and Agile Pod/Scrum teams.

  • Partner in the development and execution of enterprise QE roadmap to meet strategic goals and align with organization initiatives through transition to Agile.

  • Coordinate QE backlog of enterprise level efforts with appropriate teams.

  • Gather quality governance metrics to measure and establish quality benchmarks across delivery channels.

  • Drive adoption of metric based reporting and analytics across projects, delivery towers, and suppliers.

  • Make data driven recommendations to drive continuous QE improvement and increase team effectiveness.

  • Help drive organizational change related to Agile QE and Digital processes.

  • Represent enterprise quality organization in change approval boards (CAB) and other reviews.

  • Participate in QE monthly team meetings, technical discussions, peer reviews and in team building efforts.

  • Define and track quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts.

  • Facilitate and review QE Supplier proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Eight years of experience defining QE governance and implementing enterprise best practices.

  • Working knowledge of QE best practices as it applies in both Waterfall, and Agile methodologies.

  • Background in successfully supporting an independent test practice or Test Center of Excellence.

  • Experience in creating and implementing QE process and standards documentation.

  • Hands on experience working with test and delivery management tools including ALM, qTest, Jira, or others.

  • Ability to derive KPI’s to build reports or dashboards allowing QE, project management, and executive insight into testing status.

  • Background in working with outsourced QE teams.

  • Experience in managing QE on large fast-paced project portfolios.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science, information systems management, or related field.

  • Knowledgeable about QA methodologies, testing practices, process improvement and various stages of software quality assurance including Black Box/White Box/Gray box, Regression, CI/CD, performance testing, requirements analysis, test planning, reporting/control and root cause analysis.

  • Background in Insurance or Finance experience.

  • Data analytics / BI experience.

  • Understanding of automation, performance, test data management, and service virtualization.

  • Experience with Remedy.

  • Experience with contract negotiations and Request for Proposals / Quotes / Information.

  • Good understanding of MS Office Suite.

  • Agile experience as a Team Member, Scrum Master or Coach.

  • Ability to effectively motivate teams, collaborate, and drive standardization and continuous improvement.

  • Own and deliver reporting and presentations to QE leadership.

  • Assist in onboarding and training QE resources.
