SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Quality Manager oversees all quality related issues while leading teams in problem solving techniques for customer complaints, corrective actions, and all other quality issues. Maintains Quality records and reports Quality status to management; maintains Customer Complaint, Corrective Action, and MRB processes. Responsible for ISO9001/IATF16949 certifications and the Denver plant Quality System.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the quality team to ensure BAND-IT's adherence to the quality system. Maintain the Quality Management System to ensure compliance to current and future standards.Implement changes, as warranted, to support continual improvement of the system.

  • Deliver an annual Internal Audit Plan to ensure compliance to the quality system and monitor non-conformance corrective actions.

  • Responsible for ensuring that product meets drawing specifications and customer expectations.Ensures customer requirements are known, communicated, and met.

  • Key contact with customers on quality related issues and onsite customer audits.

  • Understand and utilize statistical based software and quality tools for data analysis and problem solving.

  • Leads cross functional teams to deliver robust internal and external problem solving techniques for customer complaints, corrective, permanent and preventative actions and all other quality related issues are closed within an average of thirty days.

  • Supervises Customer and Supplier PPAP processes to ensure timely execution.

  • Manages Supplier Quality function, including Supplier Corrective Actions and PPAP activities.Leads a team to work with suppliers to resolve product quality issues.

  • Leads ISO9001/IATF16949 maintenance/compliance. Also responsible for management of product type approvals, such as Underwriter Laboratories, DNV, etc…

  • Leads a test lab responsible for performing tests to verify our product claims based for specific applications and maintain test reports to utilize during the sales process.

  • Managerial responsibility for the Quality Department (Including training and development, goal deployment and monitoring of progress to targets and objectives)

  • Represent the Quality department in cross-functional teams and meetings, including Engineering and Manufacturing Process Change Control Boards and new product development tollgates.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • ISO9001/IATF16949 Lead Auditor Trained

  • Familiarity with quality tools and concepts: FMEA’s, Control Plans, 8D Methodology, PPAP’s, and ISO9001/IATF16949/ and Type Approval Requirements

  • Working knowledge statistical process control, methodology and interpretation of SPC

  • Managerial and interpersonal Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across the business / operations functions

  • Computer literate (MS Office, Minitab, or other statistical software)

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to make presentations before management groups.

  • 8D Problem Solving Skills (using all tools)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar field.5-10 years relevant Engineering experience; 3-5 years supervisory experience.

  • TS16949:2009 Lead Auditor Trained Preferred

  • 5+ years experience in a quality engineering /quality systems manage role.

  • Ability to supervise a test team responsible for verifying product capabilities.

  • Quality control: The individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality.

  • Adaptability: The individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.

  • Dependability: The individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
