TRC Environmental Corp. Resident Engineer - Transportation in Denver, Colorado

Job DescriptionTRC Companies, Inc., a pioneer in groundbreaking scientific andengineering developments since the 1960's, is a national engineering andenvironmental consulting firm that provides integrated services to theenergy, environmental and infrastructure markets. TRC serves a broad rangeof clients in industry and government, implementing complex projects frominitial concept to delivery and operation.We are seeking a Resident Engineer (EIRC) with a minimum of 5-10 years'experience working on transportation projects such as interstate highways,state highways, streets, interchanges, bridges, and streetscapes forprojects in Colorado and the surrounding areas.The candidate must possess a valid Colorado PE license and have recent CDOTcontract administration experience. The Resident Engineer position requiresthe use of supervisory skills and engineering judgment to evaluate projectconstruction in compliance with the plans, specifications, standardplans, and standard specifications. All incoming and outgoing projectdocumentation is channeled through the Resident Engineer, who has signatoryauthority for all project issuances to the client and contractor.Candidate must have experience working in a team environment. Candidate musthave the ability to direct and supervise field construction activities andstaff, office engineering, inspection, materials testing, fieldcontract administration, and to act as liaison with clients/owners,consultants, contractors, design professionals and regulatory agencies.ResponsibilitiesThe principal duties and responsibilities of the Resident Engineer include,but are not limited to:Makes significant and final determinations regarding contract administrationMaintains constructive relationships with the contractor and clientProject safety --Conduct/attend bi-weekly Safety meetingsOversee and monitor the safety of TRC personnelMonitor the contractor's safety programHas knowledge of the pertinent contract documents and references specific tothe projectUnderstands, interprets and makes sound engineering determinations regardingcontract documentsExercises sound engineering judgment and follows through on determinationsmade during oversight of all field operationsResolves or facilitates the resolution of all discrepancies or problems withcontract documents and issues arising from field operationsCreates and maintains open and productive communications among subordinates,sub-consultants, TRC management, contractors, clients and the publicVerifies all contract documentation is generated timely and filed in properorderReceives and generates all contract correspondenceDocumenting and informing the Project Representative of relevantobservations, including the progress of the work, problems that develop,and work proactively in identifying potential problems/issues and solutionsRequirementsValid Colorado PE LicenseExperience on CDOT or Local Agency ProjectsRequires a minimum of five (or ten) years directly related experienceBachelor of Science in CM, Civil, or Structural Engineering (preferred)Inspection certifications, and associated training preferred (CDOT, CFLHD)TRC is an equal opportunity employer: disability/veteran.
