Like every member of the Apex Team, your role as Scientist 1 is key to the company’s success. While responsibilities of the Scientist 1 will vary day to day, in generalyou will often:

  • Collect soil, plant, water, and air samples

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret data

  • Research government agency rules and regulations for permit acquisition and renewals

  • Assist with the preparation and planning of corrective actions to satisfy environmental requirements or orders

  • Compile and draft such periodic reporting as may be necessary to comply with applicable environmental regulations

  • Input data into template reports

  • Prepare scopes of work and construction cost estimates

  • Performs construction inspections and maintain activity records

Minimum Requirements

Great minds think alike! Now that we understand each other, let's sort through the minimum qualifications for this position:

  • BS in natural, physical, biological, environmental or related field.

  • 1-2 years of experience with environmental compliance and/or construction.

  • Strong technical writing skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, safety awareness, and a good record and understanding of safe work practices.

  • Ability to utilize spatial data and other computer software programs, spreadsheet systems and databases.

  • Reclamation and habitat restoration experience.

  • Native plant identification.

  • Light construction experience/hands-on skills a plus.

  • Experience with data management and report preparation.

  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle are required.

  • Strong communication skills-Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
