Position Overview

As the Senior Analyst, Environmental Compliance & Strategy, you assist Invenergy’s in-house environmental team in support of environmentally responsible development, construction and operation of wind and solar facilities across the Western U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental survey and permitting strategies, including supervising the work of environmental consultants, managing project schedules and budgets, and ensuring defensible and accurate data sharing and reporting.

  • Conduct environmental due diligence for development and acquisition opportunities.

  • Advise ECS team on interpretation of environmental data collected to inform development, construction and operational decisions.

  • Engage federal and state land and wildlife agencies.

  • Respond to internal environmental-related inquiries in support of Power Purchase Agreement bids, project financing, and third-party due diligence.

  • Ensure that environmental records are properly maintained.

  • Review technical reports. Reports typically include, but are not limited to: habitat evaluations, desktop environmental screenings, threatened/endangered/sensitive species surveys, avian and bat use surveys, and post-construction monitoring studies.

  • Participate in regional and national initiatives, symposia, conferences, and industry groups as needed to achieve Company objectives.

  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in either wind/solar or general consulting experience.

  • Familiarity with federal environmental laws (e.g. ESA, NEPA, CWA), guidelines, and policies.

  • Self-directed and detail oriented, with the ability and desire to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Able to act and adapt to a fast-paced business environment with competing deadlines.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Approximately 5% travel.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in biological science/natural resources/environmental policy or environmental law.
