05-Mar-2018 Senior Project EngineerUnited StatesPosition SummaryResponsible for performing systems engineering for industrial automationprojects based on drives, motor control centers, programmablecontrollers, operator/field devices, communication networks, etc.Responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of drives andautomation systems working in a project team environment. Designs, definesand implements complex controls systems and packaged drive systemsrequirements for customers and/or prepares studies and analyzes existingsystems. This includes systems design, systems engineering, hardwareengineering, configuration, programming and factory testing.Be an individual contributing part of a project team but may also beresponsible to lead an assigned engineering team and their assigned tasks fora larger or complex project.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:FunctionalAnalyzes the customer's requirements to determine the optimal controlssystem strategy solutions and determines applicable industrial controlsconfigurations and architectures.Interfaces with the operations manager, manufacturing and the projectmanager to support an engineering design, part delivery, and presentsstatus and options as required to maintain budget and delivery schedule.Supports manufacturing to assess progress, provide technical assistance,final inspection and sign off.May provide on-site process controls system start-up as required.Review project hardware/software for compliance with applicablecodes/standards and assure personnel/machinery safety practices are fullyimplemented.LeadershipMay be responsible to lead and review all assigned engineering team'sassigned tasks for a larger or complex project or perform design reviews formore junior engineers and technicians on their projectsLeads complex assignments requiring new processes, techniques.Assists with planning, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring resourcesfor larger or complex projects including setting and managing time-lines andbudgets.Identifies, analyzes and resolves program and work process supportdeficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions and higher valueadded ideas to templates, standards, and work processes.Provides mentorship and coaching to less senior engineers and technicians.BusinessResponsible for meeting project schedule, engineering hour budgets, andcustomer satisfaction targets for own activities or on a project leadershipbasis if assigned in support of the assigned project team.Identifies scope deviations early and often and communicates early and oftenthe impact to hardware cost, schedule, resource needs or skill sets to theproject manager and department manager.Coordinate customer requirements with engineering and other appropriatedepartments to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction is achieved.Enhances RA overall value & position with strategic global customers.May assist sales or project management with providing scope definitions,hardware and labor estimates and validations for proposals.#LI-KO1Minimum QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering disciplineMinimum of 8 years related experience in industrial controls systemapplications related to variable speed drives, drives systems, andindustrial automation systems.Minimum of 8 years related experience in electrical design, includingschematics and panel layouts, applying and programming drives, PLC's andHMI's.Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
