Senior Project Manager – Natural Resources and Renewable Energy

AEI Consultants has a new opportunity available for a full time Senior Project Manager to join our expanding Renewable Energy service line. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience as a “seller-doer” and a BS or BA degree in environmental science, engineering, business, or related field.

We are seeking a professional, dedicated, enthusiastic addition to a collaborative office environment with the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • 10+ years of experience completing, managing, and/or selling natural resource services, preferably for wind/solar or transmission projects across the US;

  • Wind/solar or Transmission Project Siting and Development experience;

  • Project permitting at local, state, and federal level

  • Experience permitting wind and solar farms preferred

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations associated with:

  • Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM)

  • USFWS Endangered Species Act

  • National Historic Preservation Act

  • National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

  • US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)

  • US EPA Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA or Superfund)

  • Management of or experience completing several of the following Natural Resource Services:

  • Wetlands delineation certification or known network of potential field staff

  • Critical Habitat analysis, bird and bat surveys

  • Environmental Assessment (EA)

  • Critical Environmental Issues Analysis (CIA)

  • NEPA

  • Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), Environmental Impact Analysis (EIA)

  • Historic Preservation, Cultural Resources, or Archeological Surveys

  • Existing annual book of business between $1 and $3 million with ability to grow upward specifically in this service line;

  • BS or BA degree in area related to engineering, environmental science, business, or marketing;

  • Experience with new client origination, including identifying, qualifying, and generating new business opportunities;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • Sales and goal oriented;

  • Competitive attitude with demonstrated achievements in business;

  • Professional, high energy, self-starter;

  • Exemplary customer service and relationship management skills;

  • Ability to remain detail-oriented while working at a fast pace;

  • Proven ability to proactively develop client relationships utilizing cold call and outside selling techniques.
