The Aerospace Corporation Senior Spacecraft Engineer in Denver, Colorado

Join our team and thrive in a career that matters to the worldand you personally.You will partner with the Government to ensure mission success of the SpaceForce Development Corps to develop, acquire and deploy Next generation OPIRspace assets that defend against, defeat, and deter aggressive adversarybehavior in space. AsNext Generation Block 0 GEO (NGG)space vehicleon-site engineer, your primary responsibilities will be to oversee LockheedMartin program activities in the Denver/Waterton area. These activitiesinclude building, testing and integration of the spacecraft bus structuresas well as RF and electronics units and subsystems, e.g., electrical powersubsystem (EPS), command and data handling (CandDH) andcommunication (Comm) subsystems. You will be a critical resource to theprogram aiding in the early identification and mitigation of risks,providing awareness to off-site Aerospace and government managers, andenabling the responsive application of Aerospace resources for promptresolution of issues to keep the program on schedule.Key FunctionsWork with contractors, government team (which includes Space Force,support contractor personnel) and team with the Engineering and TechnologyGroup (ETG)to ensure engineering processes and standards are applied to:EPS, CandDH and Com digital and electronic units build, acceptance andqualification testSpacecraft structure primary and secondary build, acceptance andqualification testEngineering and design reviews, manufacturing reviews, test readinessreviews, test exit reviews, material review boards, failure reviewboards, and other technical and status reviewsWork with program office subject matter experts to help the contractor solveproduct development issuesProvide timely and accurate reporting on technical and quality issues ofconcern to the NGG programSupport Government decision making process by supplying sound,coordinated, and easily understood technical informationMonitor, assess and report progress NGG contractordesign/build/test/integration statusSupport cost, schedule and technical risk assessmentsQualificationsRequiredBachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline12 or more years relevant experienceExperience with commercial or military space system build and test processAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships withcontractors, customers, and other FFRDC personnelAbility to work effectively from a remote siteAbility to obtain secret clearance, which is issued by the US government.U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearanceSome travel is requiredStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsPreferredAdvanced degree in science or engineering is preferredFamiliarity with spacecraft electrical system engineering process or othermajor space system suppliersActive secret clearance with ability to obtain top secretGrade-Based Pay Range(Min - Mid - Max)$117,027 - $192,281 - $267,534Ways We Reward Our EmployeesDuring your interview process, our team will provide all the details of ourindustry-leading benefits and career development opportunities.
