Mastec Services Group Structural Engineer I in Denver, Colorado

RegularFull-timeCO-DenverThe Structural Engineer I performs structural analysis of low complexity onexisting communication structures (including guyed, self-supporting,monopoles, mounts, rigging plans, rooftops, platform designs, sitecompounds and their foundations). They will prepare formal, writtenreports detailing structural capacity and recommendations for modificationsneeds to increase capacity. The Structural Engineer I supports moreexperienced engineers in the analysis of more complex structures and in thedesign of modifications to existing telecommunications infrastructure. Theywill also assist in the review of field inspections on non-complex towers andwill work with the experienced engineer to recommend remediation requirementsfor less complicated issues.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform eachessential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below arerepresentative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions of the job.Review requests for engineering services to determine that adequateinformation is provided to complete service.Review tower structures and foundations for existing, proposed and reservedtenant configurations.Review of mount analysis, rigging plans, construction drawings andpre/post inspection reports.Conduct periodic site visits to ensure to proper implementation of engineeringdesigns.Work with existing processes to correctly open analysis projects.Perform analyses on projects of low complexity using hand calculations,structural analysis software and other accepted methods.Assist in design of modifications for telecommunication infrastructurereinforcing, extensions and foundations.Work with Designer staff on the development of modification drawings.Ensure accurate project status reporting to facilitate accurate customer andsales reporting.Adhere to applicable safety and OSHA procedures.Generate required engineering reports.Assist with other duties as assignedSkills and ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related fieldrequired.Engineer in training ("EIT") or Engineering Intern ("EI")certification preferred.1+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry1+ years of experience in the field of engineering1+ years of experience with AutoCAD requiredPrior experience with 2D and 3D preferredMust have a working knowledge of structural analysis software and towerstructures and design methods.Must have a working knowledge of proper steel detailingMust have a working knowledge of structural components and design methods.Customer Service - Responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customerfeedback to improve partnershipAbility to work with functional groups and different level of employeesthroughout the MasTec Network Solutions organization to effectively andprofessionally achieve business results.Ability to develop and produce structural modification drawings and beaccurate and detail oriented.Proficient in computer software programs, including AutoCAD and theMicrosoft office suitesCommunication Skills - Excellent communication skills; speaks clearly andpersuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and getsclarification; demonstrates group presentation skillsPlanning/Organizing - Excellent time management; organizational; planswork activities; sets...
