EDG Inc. is anticipating opening an office location in the Denver, CO area.We are seeking experienced engineers from the area to help us build our team.JOB SUMMARY:The Structural Engineer is responsible for the engineering design of steel andconcrete structures required for industrial and bulk material handlingequipment and facilities. This includes stationary and rotating equipmentfoundations, pits, retaining walls, structural steel buildings,platforms, trusses and towers, as well as modification to existingstructures. This involves computer modeling, using RISA 3D and REVIT, ofstructures and modules from conceptual through final engineering. This alsoincludes coordinating with, reviewing work and guiding Designers andDrafters to accomplish project tasks.JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Conceptual and Preliminary design, including ability to perform materialquantity estimates Interpreting and guiding the work of other projectsub-consultant's work, such as geotechnical engineers and surveyors Research and compliance with Project Design and Building Codes Develop the applicable sections of Project Design Criteria Provide general layouts and arrangements for structures to support processor material handling equipment Modeling of structural systems using RISA 3D Determining member and joint geometry Development of structural design loads Foundation modeling using geotechnical survey results as an input Coordinate and direct designers and drafters in the creation of drawings Utilize 3D model interface software such as Autodesk Navisworks or similarsoftware to actively review models and provide both verbal and documentedcourse corrections to the CADD team. Interface with Project Managers, Engineers and clients Analyze designs for efficiency of construction, use of materials,structural integrity and practicality of design Check drawings and other documents. Verify correctness of design andengineering data to verify completeness of the documents Be able and willing to provide redlined drawings as an output to the CADDteam Develop or alter standard project specification to meet specific projectrequirements Be familiar with and coordinate with others with respect to total projectsystems which would include mechanical, structural, civil and electricalcomponents to allow considerations of those aspects into a project or areadesi Review certain vendor/fabricator shop drawings Maintain project files Perform field work as directed to obtain accurate information for thedesign Additional duties as assignedJob RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: BS or MS in Structural or Civil Engineering PE registration is preferred Five (5) years of applicable experience as noted above Knowledge and experience using structural design codes, includingAISC, ACI and ASCE design guidelines Experience supervising and/or directing the work of engineers,drafters or other engineering support staff Availability and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously Availability and ability to work overtime as needed based on project,may require the ability to travel to client sites Strong written and verbal communications skills Ability to interact with staff at all levels Experience in multiple industries is a plusWORKING CONDITIONS: Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and clientpersonnel May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis to obtainproject field data or attend project meetings Field duties may require outdoor work in a plant, facility or terminalenvironment Working in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery withextreme noise levels Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety departmentfor personal protectionPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communicationcapabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permitsemployee to communicate e
