David Evans And Associates Water Resources Project Engineer in Denver, Colorado

DEA is currently hiring for an experienced Water Resources Project Engineer tosupport major projects in the Puget Sound region. This position will supportDEA projects that focus on improving and enhancing the environment,primarily fish passage. This position will also focus on key long-termprograms that require dedicated staff to lead multiple design efforts expectedto extend to the year 2030. This position can be located in either ourPortland, Denver, Salt Lake City, Tacoma, Seattle or Bellevue offices.The primary focus for this position will be as a Task Lead or Project Managerfor a wide variety of Water Resources Projects. This position will requirethe candidate to utilize their expertise in water resources engineeringrelated projects, including, but not limited to, stormwater facilitiesdesign; sanitary conveyance design (gravity); surface water hydrologyand hydraulic analysis and design; floodplain management; culvert andbridge hydraulics; stream, wetland and habitat restoration analysis anddesign; assist in preparation of feasibility studies and master plans;preparation of engineering and construction plans, specifications andestimates; coordination with regulatory agencies for project permitting. Itwill be the responsibility of the position to perform engineering design andto provide a high quality product to DEA's current and future clients.Position Responsibilities:Work in a highly flexible, team-oriented environment and contribute to thegrowth of our Water Resources group.Responsible for planning and design of a wide range of water resources systemsand facilities including hydraulic analysis for stream crossings andevaluating for fish passage and scour. Responsibilities also includeevaluation and design for stormwater and surface water management systems.Sanitary and or potable water design is a plus, but not required.As a stormwater management task lead and engineer of record, collaboratewith a team of support professionals, including but not limited todrafters, EIT's, GIS technicians, and technical editors.Responsibilities also include active management of Task specific scope,schedule and budget. Project management experience is a plus, but notrequired.Knowledge of local, state, and federal stormwater management designsstandards.Opportunity to coach and mentor entry level staff.Interface with clients and public agencies on an as-needed basis.Assistance in Business Development efforts (e.g. engagement in professionalorganizations and visibility efforts), preparing proposals andparticipating in interviews as needed.Basic Qualifications:BS in Civil Engineering with emphasis in stormwater management and or waterresource design.Registered professional Engineer in Washington.6+ years of experience as a hydrology and hydraulic design engineer withgeneral civil and water resource design experience.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civ3D, and or Microstation/Inroads.Proficiency with stormwater management design software including HEC-RASknowledge/experience.Technical memorandum and report writing skills.Preferred Qualifications:8-10 years of experience as a hydrology and hydraulic design engineer withgeneral civil and water resource design experience.WSDOT, stream restoration, and fish passage experience.Registered Engineer in Oregon, Idaho, or California.Familiarity with GIS.Storm and surface water master planning is preferred.Proficient in Microstation Inroads Storm and Sanitary, CivilStorm,StormShed, MGSFlood, SWMM, HSPF, SRH2D, FLO2D, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), and HY-8Obtained WSDOT's HRM certificationBenefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid Time Off (PTO)/Holiday Pay401k and Employee Stock Owner Ship Program (ESOP)Flexible 9/80 (every other Friday off) work schedulePotential office locations include: Bellevue, WA; Tacoma, WA;Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT.DEA Inc. is proud to be an AA/EEO employer and all qualified candidates will
