Commissioning Lead is the technical expert for all start-up testing and commissioning activities on power and co-generation projects in the Wind segment. Responsible for all start-up testing and commissioning activities. Provides a key interface between customer, GE and constructor on all start-up related issues. Manages start-up personnel staffing, EHS requirements for safe to ensure the start-up is performed in professional, efficient and safe manner.
Serve as the FieldCore main point of contact at site.
Escalate site-related concerns, as required.
Assist with coaching, training, development, and communication to Fieldcore employees in partnership with Resource Management
Develop all start-up schedules and resource planning.
Ensure compliance with and administer contract in performance of start-up activities.
Ensures compliance with Start-up Policies and Procedures.
Conduct start-up meetings and interface with Customer, GE and Constructor.
Review P&ID's and engineering documents.
Maintain System Turnover Packages and transmit to Customer upon system acceptance.
Maintain Start-up Daily Log and all office correspondence.
Ensure compliance with all site safety regulations.
Ensure compliance with all site environmental and construction permits, (as applicable).
Utilize customers O&M staff in support of start-up testing activities.
Review start-up and commissioning instructions and test procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
Degree in an Electrical, Mechanical or other related technical discipline OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service role installing and commissioning power generation equipment
Possess advanced skills and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization
Proven leadership skills and project controls experience to effectively manage a site through a successful commissioning evolution is required.
Must posses a valid driving license
Expert level. Able to act as a senior company rep on any outage for the unit qualified. Acts as project manager and mentor on complex projects
Experience with modeling and analysis programs for wind turbines.
Proficient in the use of computers and PC software.
Excellent customer, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel extensively in support of global assignments.
Fluent in English language.
