In this position, you will lead certification activities by providingguidance to our engineering teams to ensure that our design solutions arecompliant with the regulatory requirements of either the FAA and/or militaryairworthiness offices. These cover a very wide range from, advanced missionpayloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft. IAS tailors solutionsto customer cost, performance and schedule requirements and designs toconsistently exceed expectations and provide a turnkey approach to enable ourcustomers to focus on their mission.Must-haves:Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and at least 6 years ofrelevant experienceA higher level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationPrior experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsPreferred:Degree in an Engineering related disciplineUnderstanding of Systems Safety Processes (MIL-STD-882) and experienceclassifying hazards/risksStrong communicator; able to build relationships with customerUnderstanding of the certification planning process (i.e. developingcertification plans, the establishment of certification basis, proposingMethods of Compliance, proposing compliance artifacts)Prior experience with FAA Certification Standards (14 CFR Part 23, 25,27, 29) and/or Military certification (MIL-HDBK-516) programsExperience with reading, reviewing and interpreting technical documentationfor accuracy and compliance with applicable regulationsCoordinating certification approvals with the FAA Aircraft CertificationOffice, ODA's, Delegated Engineering Representatives(DER's)/Unit Members, Military Program Offices or other certifying authoritiesBackground in Project ManagementThe ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance is required.IMPORTANT NOTICE:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S.Security Clearance.
