DISH Senior Product Designer in Englewood, Colorado

The DISH Product team is the group that introduced the world to the Hopper 3, DISH Anywhere, and a voice remote that allows you to control your entertainment as well as your entire home. We push the boundaries of what your TV provider can offer, and we’re often the first in our industry to launch new experiences. We are accountable for some of the most exciting aspects of DISH, with responsibilities over hardware, the user experience, the DISH Anywhere apps, partner integrations, and emerging video technologies.

We are looking for candidates with energy, intelligence, and drive to join the Product team to help us shape the future of DISH TV.

Product designers at Dish have a huge influence on the direction of our products. As a key part of an empowered product team, they guide the user experience and visual design for our innovative line of products. We’re seeking a talented, passionate designer to help lead the creative direction here at DISH. They will establish standards for tactical execution for design work, set the tone for quality design, and serve as a cultural ambassador for the team. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert (SME) in interface design, usability and visual design that has been obtained through advanced education, significant work experience, or both. You will work collaboratively with developers, product managers, stakeholders, and end users - leading design throughout discovery and delivery of new products, features, and services.


  • Work with product teams to explore new ideas, build concepts and prototypes, test hypotheses, and deliver final designs for new products and enhancements to existing products.

  • Give and solicit feedback from our community of designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality.

  • Use creative research methods and available data to inform design decisions.

  • Represent end-users throughout product creation to align solutions with their needs.

  • Guide empowered product teams through collaborative brainstorming activities.

  • Master, refine, and evolve the user experience of our suite of products to advocate and solve for end-users.

  • Leverage and extend our design system.

  • Contribute to a growing library of ‘Plays’ that operationalize (where appropriate) design work to ensure consistency in execution.

  • Take pride in listening, communicating, and collaborating exceptionally well.


  • UX - Master of at least one design method, with advanced knowledge in a variety of alternative design methods. Champions industry standards and best-practices. Follows competitors. Recognized as a subject matter expert (SME) in at least one or two functional areas of design.

  • Visual Design - Advanced understanding of visual design principles reflected in design work. Brings design trends into the organization. Evolves design systems where appropriate.

  • Research - Defines essential qualitative and quantitative data with input from others. Able to run complex qualitative research exercises independently. Leverages research to support business outcomes.

  • Tools - Skilled in tools for visual design, research, and product management.

  • Collaboration - Understands how design, product, and engineering partners for product development and uses that knowledge to build collaborative, cross-disciplinary design processes. Helps build productive feedback mechanisms, and supports rituals and practices for effective internal/external communication.

  • Problem Solving - Expert at solving complex design problems. Challenges others to explore radical ideas, challenge the status quo, and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

  • Cultural Fit - Empathetic and curious. Demonstrates strong ability to think critically. Passionate about teaching and sharing new knowledge with others.

  • Leadership - Mentors more junior team members. Ensures that design work is consistently delivered to standard. Explores new tools, technologies, and methods for improving outcomes.


  • BS + relevant post graduate education and/or certification with 5-10 years relevant experience.

  • Real-world experience applying Lean principles, Design Thinking, and/or Human-Centered Design methods to the product creation life-cycle.

    Compensation: $86,400.00/Yr. - $120,200.00/Yr.
