The Army Rapid Capabilities Office and Navy Strategic Programs are experiencing significant growth, and we need your experience and ambition to deliver outstanding new technologies to our customers!

We have an immediate opening in Englewood, CO for a senior-level System Safety Engineer Technical Lead to help field several future hypersonic and glide body technology insertions that are vital to our defense.

You will ensure that safety is crafted into hardware and software products and that controls are incorporated and remain effective while assuring compliance to safety requirements. This role will require you to review and assess system designs for hazard impacts and develop and maintain safety hazard analysis products. You will use your knowledge of systems engineering and system safety to help mentor junior engineers on hazard methodologies and practices.

Your responsibilities will include the following tasks:

•Lead and manage the development of multiple safety and hazard analysis artifacts throughout the CPS life cycle

•Collaborate with Systems Engineering leadership on defining processes for integration of safety products into the systems and design engineering environments

•Participate and present safety analyses and issues in customer safety working groups, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews, and various working groups and safety review meetings

•Support the development and updating of System Safety documents to support Customer and Range Safety contractual requirements

•Coordinate with test range safety teams and writing range safety reports to support testing

•Collaborate with Army and Navy safety counterparts and support weapon systems working groups

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related discipline.

• Experience in a Safety Engineering or related position.

• Must be a US Citizen.

• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Desired Skills:

•Experience in System Safety Engineering MIL-STD-882 Safety programs with strong technical skills in performing hazard analyses, identifying safety requirements, developing fault trees, and recommending risk mitigations.

•Prior experience working with US Army or Navy customers.

•Familiarity or experience with missile systems, safety requirements, ordnance and software.

•Master's degree.

•Current Secret security clearance.
