DescriptionPosition PurposeThe Senior Operations Engineer (level 3) reports to Technical Leadershipand whose focus is performing manufacturing design and support for a largemachine shop with moderate to high complex manufacturing processes, machinesand equipment. The candidate will support production and continuously improveour manufacturing organization with CNC programming, processing, toolingand work holding. The candidate will work on new productsintroduction(NPI) and will mentor other Engineers and support processimprovements. This position works under a moderate to low level ofsupervision. Independent technical decisions on work are covered byprecedents; this position seeks direction/guidance on novel orcontroversial prEssential FunctionsProvides advanced technical solutions and leads team through processDevises new approaches to problems encounteredInitiates, justifies, and implements new advanced capital equipment purchasesDemonstrated experience with Horizontal, Vertical, Multi-Axis lathes,EDM, and Heat treat machine shop equipmentCreates cell layouts and leads process improvement initiatives of highcomplexityUses solid Six Sigma and lean tools to improve processesUses solid concepts of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA)and implements them into new product introductionRepresents the company with our customersLeads updates to management on operations statusParticipates in and promotes process improvements within assigned areas;assists with the development of department and organization proceduresSupports the manufacturing floor for any process related questions. Lendslessons learned and leads training efforts for process understanding.Creates, maintains and develops new process documentation and updates workorder documentation. Creates new systems that support this effort.Implements complex engineering changes.
