Cardno is a professional infrastructure, environmental and socialdevelopment services company dedicated to improving the lives of people andcommunities around the world. We are seeking to build a team ofinterdisciplinary Facility Assessors to work on a large-scale FacilityCondition Assessment programs nationwide. Assessors must have knowledge andexperience in one or more of the following: mechanical systems, electricalsystems, building shell, (including roofing systems), as well asstructural and interior elements.The team will conduct assessments of facilities and systems on buildings andinfrastructure on numerous military bases.Job Description:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Conduct an inventory of client facilities properly classifying buildingcomponents in accordance with ASTM UNIFORMAT II.Perform assessments of client facilities using professional expertise andjudgment to determine physical condition and conformance with specificationsand building codes.Experience using facility condition assessment software. Knowledge of BUILDERweb-based Sustainment Management System (SMS) software applicationdeveloped by the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and DevelopmentCenter's Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) is highlydesirable; however, Cardno will train good candidates in the use of thisSMS soUse computer tablets with built-in cameras to document mechanical orelectrical equipment and subcomponents encountered during assessments andproviding justification for determination of the physical condition.Work under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and standardpractices.Physical ability to inspect large complexes, includingmechanical/electrical systems and subcomponents and supporting systems(assessors typically walk up to 5 miles per day).Basic Qualifications:Demonstrated on-the-job experience or formal trade school education inbuilding and mechanical systems5 years of experienceGood technical writing skills requiredGood mathematical aptitude requiredAbility to travel, 50% or more (for follow-on assignments beyond FortBragg project)Desired Qualifications:Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or otherapplicable fieldMaster mechanic/technicianICC certificationASHRAE Level I and Level II energy auditorEqual Opportunity statement for US based applicantsCardno has a long standingpolicy of Equal Opportunity in employment.
