Moog Inc. Project Engineer in Golden, Colorado

Moog New Space produces spaceflight and military hardware solutions,integrating vehicle design, component design and engineering services foraerospace, scientific, commercial and military customers on fourcontinents. From proposal phase to ground testing, launch and on-orbitoperations, we support each mission as scientific, technical andoperational facilitators.Our New Space Group is looking for a self-directed Project Engineer with anentrepreneurial mindset that is willing to take on a variety of roles andtasks to help our New Space business grow. The New Space Group has a start-upfeel, by design, and serves a unique group of new customers. We work onnew and emerging launch vehicles, spacecraft, and in-space vehicles indevelopment. This role is a bit of a departure from our typical engineeringjob descriptions, this person would need to demonstrate skills in adifferent environment where project sizes are on a smaller size and theoverall life cycle is shorter than some of the traditional Space projects. Inthis role you will get to wear many different engineering hats (project,systems, design, product, analysis) in the course of the product life cycle.As the Project Engineer, you will serve as the point of contact fortechnical communications with Moog's New Space customers and drive the teamto the technical, schedule and cost objectives for the program. You would bea key contributor to the analysis, conceptual design, development, andtesting of complex control hardware used on aerospace applications.NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:Project Engineer Job Duties...* Lead projects through ownership of milestone deliverables* Drive the project team to meet specified schedules* Interface with suppliers for quotes and ordering parts* Drive the product through the manufacturing process* Assist in assembly and test as required* Contribute to the development of new product requirements through consultingwith customers and sales personnel* Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies andanalyses* Be a key contributor to the preparation of successful proposal designs,cost estimates, and technical volume write ups* Operate as a key element in a team of creative, independent individuals* Coordinate the work of drafters, technicians, design analysts,manufacturing engineers and others who assist in specific assignments asneeded* Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation* Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental developmenttest program* Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concisereports desirable* Knowledge of mechanical actuation or propulsion systems a big plusMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:* BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, plus 6 years of engineeringexperience; or a MS Degree in similar fields of study* Self-starting instincts and strong analytical skills* Seasoned knowledge of electrical hardware designs* Good communications skillsThis position requires access to US Export Controlled InformationEOE/AA Minority/Female/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Disability/VeteranEOE/AAMinority/SexualOrientation/GenderIdentity/Female/Disability/Veteran
