Position Summary:-

The Senior Engineer is responsible for the technical direction, guidance, support of the structural engineering team.

Duties and Responsibilities: -The essential duties and responsibilities regularly performed and normally assigned to this position are as follows:

  • Develop technical procedures, processes, standards, and policies for the structural engineering team.

  • Conduct department training for analysis tools and methods.

  • Lead design and management on complex projects.

  • Represent the company as an expert consultant.

  • Review and assist on custom designs and structural modifications to ensure cost effective solutions.

  • Complete a variety of detailed custom designs and structural modifications including full calculation package, report, fabrication and installation drawings.

  • Act as the engineer in responsible charge on work completed by the staff engineers and CAD team.

  • Provide 3rd party structural observation letters.

  • Complete analysis and reports for communication structures including but not limited to steel telecom towers, wooden poles, utility towers, foundations, mounts, and existing buildings under supervision of project engineers.

  • Team with Engineering Manager and Project Engineers to identify growth and improvement opportunities while also implementing company standards and ensuring a superior level of quality within the department.

  • Coach, mentor, and motivate staff engineers.

  • Will perform Field Engineer duties when on job sites.

  • Continue industry education and knowledge on an ongoing basis.

  • Review work of peers to provide constructive criticism and ensure superior work quality.

  • Other duties as identified and assigned.

Competencies, Education, and Experience: To perform this job successfully, the individual will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.- Education, Experience and Computer Skills are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities.-

  • Structural Engineering (SE) license

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license

  • Bachelor-s degree in civil engineering or similar required

  • Master-s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred

  • NCEES record with ability to obtain PE licensure in multiple states

  • Continuing education required per state PE license laws as applicable

  • 10+ years engineering experience

  • 2+ years telecom industry experience

  • Customer relations experience with demonstrated positive customer satisfaction results.

  • Ability to thrive in an environment that is both team oriented and requires a high level of independent research.

  • Demonstrated capabilities with large scale and complete structural engineering projects

  • Expertise in common structural design, construction, and fabrication methods

  • Expertise with applicable industry related codes and standards including but not limited to TIA-222, IBC, NDS, ACI318, ASCE 7, AISC 360, etc.

  • Great communication skills

  • Great time management skills

  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, reliable, and dedicated to completing superior quality work

  • Maintain a professional working attitude with co-workers and customers

  • Great problem-solving skills

  • Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions is preferred

Computer Skills:- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient working knowledge of the MS Office Suite and demonstrated ability to learn other software as necessary.- Proficient with Risa 3D, MathCAD, TNX Tower, L-Pile, and Caisson programs.- Training can be provided for candidate-s proficient with analysis and computational software.- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software.

Travel:- This position is generally expected to require minimum overnight travel.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office environment.- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently sit talk or hear, and will occasionally stoop, kneel, and use hands and arms.
