Tetra Tech invites you to consider a rewarding opportunity within our Golden or Superior, Colorado office as a Senior Geochemist.
Responsibilities : Providing support to all project phases ranging from initial proposal writing, subsequent field and analytical work, report writing and office tasks. Data collection such as field sampling and coordination of laboratory testing. Data prediction including geochemical modeling of water-rock systems. Projects typically involve permitting, baseline studies, operational support, and reclamation/remediation for the mining, oil and gas, and power industries.
Qualifications: 7years’ experience in geochemistry discipline. Ability to coordinate and execute field programs using proper sampling techniques. Experience with data management tools (e.g., Excel, Access, Python). Strong interpersonal skills within a team environment and with clients. Good technical writing skills. Willingness to travel to domestic and international project locations. Familiarity with mining industry guidance documents used for mine waste characterization and mine water quality prediction (e.g., MEND, GARD Guide).
Experience with geochemical modeling software (e.g. PHREEQC). Expertise in isotope geochemistry, forensic environmental chemistry, oil and gas E&P, geochemical modeling, brine geochemistry, fate and transport (e.g., GeoStudio, SVFLUX), dynamic systems modeling (e.g., GoldSim), and litigation support a plus. Mine Safety Health Administration (MSHA) surface mine certification and experience working at a mine site also a plus.
Degree Requirements : BS or higher in geochemistry or related field
