We invite top-performers to apply to becomea part of our lean and agile team.Moog is seeking an experienced spacecraft system engineer to be the technicallead for a space vehicle development. This includes all phases from conceptualdesign to development, integration, test, and delivery. The lead systemsengineer is the technical expert and architect for the spacecraft, as wellas the lead for the spacecraft technical team.You will serve as the focal point for the development and communication of thesystem architecture to the team, Customers, and Moog Space Executives. Asthe lead, you will ensure conversion of mission requirements into completesystems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraintsof the system as well as develop system element architecture, design, andinterface definitions. You will be heavily-involved in supporting internal andexternal design reviews, working closely with program managers in anagile-led environment. You will also be developing models and architecturalguidelines for future system development and integration with other Moog spacevehicle concepts. This role will be pivotal in the development of new spacevehicle product lines within Moog.The position will be a member of a team responsible for hardware and softwaredevelopment of unique most often 1-of-a-kind systems. Typical space vehicleapplications include being a spacecraft bus, a "smart upper stage", anin-space transfer vehicle, and a hosted payload platform. The selectedcandidate will be responsible for leading and working side-by-side with otherengineers in a team environment and will be exposed to all functional areas ofengineering.The Space Vehicles team leverages experiences from across the Moog enterpriseso it is essential to be able to work effectively with a remote team withlocations in California, Colorado, Arizona, and New York.Here are typical activities of a Lead Spacecraft Systems Engineer at Moog....Analyzing mission objectives to determine spacecraft system requirementsCreating space system concepts and configurations to meet system requirementsAnalyzing orbits and trajectories to fulfill mission objectivesDeveloping spacecraft CONOPS and design reference missionsPerforming quantitative trade analyses, make-buy analyses and vendorselectionsAllocating and defining subsystem requirementsBreaking down system-level requirements from a customer into component-levelrequirements, software requirements, and individual tasksTracking Technical Performance Metrics for systems and subsystemsCreating and maintaining critical budgets (e.g. mass, power,propulsion, link, etc.)Creating and maintaining spacecraft states and modes tablesLeading launch vehicle, payload, and ground interface control documentsSupporting integration and testing of the space vehicleBeing responsible for cradle-to-grave engineering (conceptual design,detailed design, analysis, integration, test, launch, and flight operations)Working closely with customers (commercial, start-up companies, spaceand defense)Writing proposals for new work and support new business developmentinitiativesProviding input on product family development and technology needsProviding team leadership and mentoring to younger engineersRequired Qualifications:10 years of applicable spacecraft engineering experience with at least 5 ofthat in Spacecraft Systems EngineeringThis job requires an active US Government security clearance or the ability toobtain oneB.S., M.S., or Ph.D in EngineeringStrong systems integration backgroundGood working knowledge of S/C subsystems to include; propulsion,avionics, GNandC, communication, structures, EPS and thermalPrior experience as a spacecraft or subsystem le
