KLJ Engineer In Training I Civil in Grand Junction, Colorado

DescriptionEssential Functions* Apply fundamental civil engineering principles and standards to individualproject tasks* Utilize design software to apply engineering standards of design* Construction observation/inspection and administration* Ensure compliance with company quality standards* Utilize effective written and oral communicationResponsibilities* Assist with elements of project design including calculation of quantitiesfor cost estimating and bidding purposes* Increase design competency in software(s) associated with typicalproject requirements* Become familiar with, and competent in the details of putting together aset of plans* Effectively convey engineering analysis and results in written reports anddocumentation* Perform construction administration duties such as documenting activities,providing general oversight, and interacting with contractors,sub-contractors, residents and others.* May assist with preparation for public/client meetingsQualifications* Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accreditedpost-secondary institution* Engineer-In-Training Certification required* Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel.* Must have a valid driver's license and able to operate motorized vehiclesPreferences:* Academic or on the job engineering design experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation or other design software.* Desire to pursue Professional Engineer licensure* Previous Internship Experience in related fieldHours and TravelThis position requires the individual work 40 or more hours per week.
